Man, why is Nanachi so fucking adorable? Seriously she's almost as adorable as Hawk from Nanatsu no Taizai.
Whenever I look at Mitty, it just breaks my fucking heart. Look at her all deformed and shit, can't talk, can't walk and all she does is groan and make these weird sounds. Imagine, she used to be a person. A little girl like Riko. And then I remember in the ending song there's Riko, Reg, and Nanachi adventuring down the Abbyss without Mitty. And now they showed Nanachi asking Reg to kill her which is probably reasonable cause Mitty most likely is suffering every second she's alive. Reg will kill her and I wouldn't be able to take it and will cry like a bitch. Fuck this anime :(
Am I the only one who's confused by the timeline of the Abyss vs Orth? Because Ozen said that time in the Abyss is perceived slower (based on her examples) than up above, but I remember Kiyui saying that his birthday is in two days when Reg went to say goodbye to him. And now, after at least 10 days in the Abyss (because they spent 10 days just at the survival training), it's Kiyui's birthday and he gets sick. So basically the Abyss-Orth time ratio would be >10-2 days?
It seems that the Abyss sucks the life out of people on the day they are born because it feels entitled to take it back or something. The curse's true nature is really interesting too.
Nanachi wanted to put down Mitty but couldn't get herself to actually do it. I think that Mitty must be constantly suffering in that form of hers like how she's crying in Riko's dream. At least Reg managed to pretty much avenge Riko by owning that Orb Piercer.
I have the bad feeling that Bondy is the type of guy who likes to experiment on kids (,_,)
Last episode with 47 minutes. Will Abyss be able to show what its got? I don't think so.
Not much different from any normal anime, except maybe the gruesome themes. At least some doctors figured out the curse of the abyss. But kinda confused about the birthday of the kid. Wasn't it supposed to be 2 days after they left? Seems like time flows differently, which I don't believe.
No Riko is good.
Without change,we end up becoming the very person we hate.
I was dead until the moment I met you. I was a powerless corpse pretending to be alive. Living without power, without the ability to change my course, was bound to lead me to a slow death.
So, even powerhouse monster like that has a weakness. Well, we got a lot of info about the curse of abyss. Good episode with a good plot twist at the end.
I had a bad feeling about Kiyui ever since the start of the show when they mentioned the birthday-death disease. I'm so happy he survived although it's for unknown reasons. Maybe it's simply just a miracle.
Looks like Mitty doesn't recognize Riko after all but just warmed up to her. Good to know since I had a bad feeling about her connection to Riko since last episode. I knew one of the white whistles is going to be a villain especially since Ozen outright said he's an asshole. He's probably experimenting on kids like Mitty considering what Nanachi said about "not letting him do as he pleases." Now Nanachi wants to put her down for good. I feel bad for her since she's been taking care of Mitty since they escaped.
Reg wasn't able to kill the orb piercer but it most likely wouldn't survive since its main weapon has been rendered useless for the most part. It will probably become a prey and be hunted by other predators living in the Abyss. Vengeance is served.
The curse of the abyss has finally been explained. Interesting stuff indeed. I would have been just fine if the curse remained a vague concept to be honest but I'm more than happy they actually explained its true nature. Great episode as always.
Man, I understood absolutely nothing from the scene where Nanachi instructs Reg from afar.
What the hell was that column of red light emanating from Reg when he looked up? What is the connection between looking up/jumping right and catching the porcupine-monster? Wasn't Nanachi going to demonstrate to him how the Curse/Forcefield works? Instead she just walked him through a fight with her mysterious mind-reading capabilities. Did I miss the bit about how this relates to the curse?
I hope the last episode has explanations for these too.
Damn the last scene was heart breaking but the entire of the episode was intriguing.
Behold of my awesomeness~

But my feels.
Nice episode, but it's so troublesome when anime really take their time getting to the good part when the sequel isn't coming for years. It's an obvious bait for the manga, but it still looks so bad from a production perspective.
Iโm here just hoping we get an explanation on how this giant hole got there in the first place. I mean there was ship just chilling there, something happened and my curiosity is still as piqued as ever
i still can't believe that the first season is gonna be over after 1 episode. It just seems like the series should've been much longer. Although I really liked the episode. Showing what the characters are thinking from multiple perspectives.
Is it too hard to live for Nanachi together with Mitty, seeing her in this condition or something?.. Is that, why she's asking Regu to kill Mitty?.. Well, maybe we'll learn it next time, or not - will see..
This was good. Probably the best episode I would say since the 8th one just because I liked how clear and concise this episode was with explaining more about how the Curse works as well as how Reg can target against other creatures in future battles through learning and adapting against their weak points with the help of Nanachi's explanations. Plus the whole reveal of Nanachi wanting to kill her comrade in arms, Mitty, was a nice cliffhanger too but at the same time, considering the state of Mitty, there should be absolutely no surprises regarding why Nanachi's asking Reg to help her do the deed. Wouldn't want to see Mitty suffer in that sort of condition any longer since there's no real hope or cure for her.
Also, the main reason why I enjoyed this more than even the likes of episode 10 was just because it didn't really have any issues from me compared to that. 10 is the more impactful, gruesome one but I had problems with it whereas for this 12th one, I could appreciate the storytelling and exposition while not feeling any issues from it, infact the way the exposition was done was really good too since the story never felt stagnant nor dragged along here compared to some of the earlier episodes, let alone many examples of other shows.
I haven't read the manga yet, but if I had to make a wide guess...Is Mitty somehow related to Riko? Like an older sister or cousin? Idk, that was my take on the scene with Riko looking into her eyes.
Nah Nanachi it ain't some kind of stew you should eat. LOL.
Again though, those doubts around Mitty just growing more and more, and now Nanachi coming up with something like that. Would be an interesting finale.
This was such a great episode. Regu managed to take his revenge and Nanachi helped him out. Riko is still recovering and we got to hear Nanachi's request of killing Mitty for her. ;__; NOOOO
Now I wonder who the, "him", they were running away from is
Graduated High School in May of 2022. Summer vacation has finally arrived. I have once again regained the power of a new anime fan, being able to watch multiple anime episodes in a day. Time to binge-watch every single anime I can into the night until college arrives. SADGE. SUPER SADGE... College has begun as of Monday, August 30, 2022, so you won't be seeing me much around these parks. See you on weekends, I guess... School me is back. Sigh! I'll at least try for one anime a day with all this course load.
Now i understand the nanachi joke in pop team epic s2! She never eats anything good huh?๐
It's really cute when she's embarrassed by how bad her cooking is to reg.
What a bombshell at the end, but i get her.

In all seriousness, that was a very interesting explanation of why the Curse of the Abyss (aka "Super Bendz") works the way ut does. Much different than I had thought, but makes sense!
