Alot of people nowadays play video games however not alot of people go for the achievements inside of these games. For examples the average game has around 50 achievements ranging from collectible grinding to completing the story etc. Not alot of people aim to complete all of these achievements within the game. My question is do you aim to complete all of these achievements. Me personally since January 2024 I've been trying to obtain every achievement in as many games and I've succeeded in completing 45 games so far. I Personally use true achievements to track my achievements (Which is like Myanimelist for achievement hunting)

Yeah on both Xbox & Playstation consoles, although I mainly stick to PS consoles and I rarely game anymore.

I think I have 185 platinums on my main account (⬅️ that's not up to date) and 3 plats on my smurf account for PS.
I cared about them more in the past, but currently when I do game, I like playing casual games and they tend to be easy to plat.

If I like the game I'm playing, then yes, I will definitely put an effort to get all the achievements.

I don't really care about Achievements on Steam. They are really pointless IMO.

I have 8 platinum on my PS account, including Dark Souls 3, Nioh, Bloodborne, etc... But I feel too old for this now, and am happy when I finish the main story of games.

Only if it's built into the game and lets you unlock stuff. Otherwise I don't give a fuck about the so-called "achievements" thing.

Besides, I only play cracked offline games, so it doesn't matter; I don't like to be signed up with any game stores and services; they are all utter trash.

Plus, it's much better to play and use mods with cracked versions of games than with official releases.

@Exhumatika You don`t have to use any digital stores. Just buy a console and play games with physical disc! At least it's not illegal like stealed cracked games.

I don't bother with Achievements in video games. They seem like a scam.

Consoles are not even worth buying; they are a joke for inadequate idiot consumers.

The few cracked games that I have are the ones that accumulated throughout the years, and I'm perfectly fine with my small collection of these.

Besides, the amount of tweaks and mods that I've done for them makes buying official releases obsolete and useless.

So your point is invalid.

@Exhumatika I like consoles. I've had an xbox all my life and own hundreds of games for my xbox. But i agree that cracking games is way better than having to pay for them but i personally like the feeling of saving up for a game and then buying it. It makes it feel more special in my opinion

Yeah I've 100% a lot of games but I give up if the achievement is too boring or completely idiotic.
Some examples:
The arcade game in Catherine (which I eventually completed once I found out progress carries over in all playthroughs)

The blackjack minigame in Resident Evil 7

The "Beat an opponent online when you have 10% or less health remaining and they have 90% or more health remaining" on Injustice 2. Maybe I could do that with friends if I knew someone who played the game? Or it only counts in ranked matches idk.

A lot of internal achievements in Diablo 3. I have maxed all classes and I'm level 200 on that post game level thing so I've played this game A LOT but some of these achievements require so much grinding still that I just don't feel like doing them.

I only aim for a Platinum Trophy on my PS consoles if the achievements in a game are doable. If there are too many complex or time-consuming conditions, then I wouldn't bother. 11 Plats so far and I'm already happy with that.

I used to always try for 100% achievements if I could, but had to stop because I was spending too much time doing that instead of putting all that time into playing games on my backlog. I'll still try for it if there's not a lot and they're easy.

Not trying to brag. I have 13k nearly 14k trophies. 323 platinum more than anyone I seen flex their achievements/ trophies on here. Real hard trophies not no 1 dollar platinums.

I only have twice, but I would definitely enjoy doing more in the future.

I went for all achievements in Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy. Beating it once, beating it twice, and beating it 50 times. My fastest run was 7 minutes and 17 seconds :)

I also hunted for the Grin and Bear It achivement on Red Dead Redemption 2 - "Survive 18 bear attacks and kill the bear each time in Story Mode." It is arguably the hardest achievement to get, and only 1.2% of players have it. But it was quite satisfying to do!

@Spast1c I won't you the name because I can twice already but show the account and couple of the platinum. Hard to earn/ones I liked.

Depends on the dlc. Didn't complete all new Vegas dlc due the game horribly on PS3 especially dead money. Disgeae D2, no desire to spend 30 dollars on dlc characters that suck.

I usually try to give it a try, like using the weapons for archivements in Uncharted. But I think I never got the platinum/full archivement, idk I guess I just need more time, and some archivements are like incredible hard to get (I know, thats the point)

I will only achievement hunt after I have completed the game as I want to experience the game without trying to go for trophies. Also I would have to either really like the game or just be close to 100% or getting the platinum trophy.

Yes I do, or at least trophy hunt when it comes to PSN. However I don't go too much out of my way to get them. If it's an easy enough trophy to acquire within a limited amount of time, I'll go for it. If it's either too stressful or just too long to achieve, I usually won't bother. I actually bought Megamind back on the good old PS3 just to get an easy Platinum trophy. Yes I have no shame. XD

@AmityBlight congrats on your plats! I always do the dlc since i am on xbox and that is required to get the 100% status on the achievements.

@DesuMaiden It really depends but i agree with you partly, i have lost alot from achievement hunting socially wise, i lost friends because i often locked myself in a room and played for hours just to get some achievements done which i do partly regret but i do enjoy the memories that i made with the games themselves and they at least gave me a reason to come home everyday.

Nah but I do spend a long time, even years when I really like a game.

Played Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne for three years before completing the story.

I did back when I played WoW then just didn't bother anymore, until a few years ago I considered going for platinum in Elden Ring, but I can't be mean to some NPCs so I just forget about it again.

As a PC gamer who primarily uses Steam, every achievement in a game is truly valuable to me, and I cherish each one. However, it really frustrates me when some people inflate their achievements using special software. In my opinion, this completely undermines the concept of achievements and destroys a system that should be based on honest progress and effort.

im a completionist and need to collect all achievements for a game. my first playthrough i dont worry about it too much and just try to enjoy the game, but afterwards i start to get tired of games i liked because of how hard i go on trying to get all the achievements.

I'm on Trueachievements but I only achievement hunt to get a decent amount of the game completed on my profile. I only have like 10 100% complete and like half of them are COD games.

My problem is I feel like I don't have enough time left to experience everything I want with vidya and anime plus my friends hold me hostage to play comp games just for ranked so getting 100% completion is pretty rare for me to embark on

Unless I passively accumulate so many achievements in a game that only a miniscule percentage are still left, I typically don't bother with achievement hunting, as the time investment (often taking the form of grinding) doesn't often translate into entertainment output.

I only "achievement hunt" really in Sandbox type Strategy/Simulation games, because it gives me a near endless list of goals to aim for every time I get an itch to play. Otherwise nah, Gamer scores and trophies don't interest me.
